Eta by Klimt European Wall Art
Eta by Klimt, also known as Mother and Child, is an Italian jacquard wall tapestry portraying the work of famous painter Gustav Klimt (1862 - 1918). This is a detail from Klimt’s The Three ages of Woman. Amid a mosaic of flowers and gleaming ornaments, maternal contentment is sensitively portrayed. Klimt was an Austrian symbolist painter and one of the most prominent members of the Vienna Secession movement. He is noted for his paintings, murals, sketches, and other objects d'art. Klimt's primary subject was the female body, and his works are marked by candid eroticism. In addition to his figurative works, which include allegories and portraits, he painted landscapes. Among the artists of the Vienna Secession, Klimt was also strongly influenced by Japanese art and its methods.
